A Christian Church/Churches of Christ in Oregon had someone "who has grown up in our midst be called into full time missions work." According to the congregation's Mission Match application materials, the funds raised by the congregation were to be used to help this church member join "a church planting team in Turkey." According to the materials, the government of Turkey sends many of the refugees to outlying towns where the new believers meet together in house churches. Comments from the church member missionary stated, "There are more groups of believers who need someone to come and help them form a good foundation in their faith, and new refugees are arriving every day. I am joining this team pursuing God's glory by planting 20 churches. I will be ministering to women and families, offering friendship and hospitality and taking opportunities to share the Gospel and train new believers." Follow-up comments from the congregation on the Mission Match matching funds said, "This has created a sense of excitement and knowing that if we all work together we can accomplish more than we thought we could. The Mission Match gave us the challenge we needed to assure us that with God's help 'we can do it.' Our congregation has become much more aware of missions."
